1. Environmental Footprint

2. Circular Farming
Black soldier fly larvae are nature’s recyclers. They are reared on carefully selected surplus plant-based food materials that would otherwise go to landfill. They transform these nutrients into high-quality protein. Their natural by-products are returned to agriculture as fertiliser, creating a circular system where very little is wasted.
3. Ethically Farmed
Black soldier fly larvae naturally thrive in high-density environments, meaning they can be farmed efficiently without the extensive land requirements associated with conventional livestock production.
We also believe sustainability should go hand in hand with responsibility. We’re not sure whether insects possess nociceptors (pain receptors) or experience pain, the larvae are gently cooled into a dormant state before processing. Omuu delivers nutrition that is better for pets, kinder to the planet and guided by compassion.
4. No antibiotics or growth hormones
Global antibiotic resistance is a major cause of concern. For years, traditional farming has used antibiotics as growth promoters or used antibiotics to treat certain infections caused by extensive farming. Unlike many conventional livestock systems, black soldier fly larvae are reared without the routine use of antibiotics or growth hormones.
In addition, insect protein naturally contains anti-microbial peptides that have been shown to possess antimicrobial properties.
