Yes. “Insect protein” and “bug protein” are simply two different names for the same ingredient. At Omuu, we use premium black soldier fly larvae, a highly digestible, nutrient-rich protein that provides essential amino acids pets need while offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional animal proteins.

My dog has allergies, will bug protein help?
Insect protein is considered a novel protein because most dogs have never been exposed to it before. This means it is less likely to trigger an immune response in dogs with food allergies to more common protein sources.
By reducing exposure to ingredients such as beef, chicken and dairy, many dogs with food sensitivities can benefit from switching to an insect protein diet. Every dog is different and individual sensitivities can vary.
